Who we are

AKL Solicitors is the trading name of AKL Solicitors Ltd, a private limited company registered in England and Wales with company number 09610423. Registered office: AW House, 6-8 Stuart Street, Luton, Bedfordshire LU1 2SJ. A list of directors is available for inspection at the registered office.

Regulation

AKL Solicitors Ltd is authorised and regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA number 622742). Our solicitors are bound by the SRA Standards and Regulations. You can check our details on the SRA register. Our SRA digital badge is shown at the bottom of every page.

Professional indemnity insurance

We hold professional indemnity insurance in line with the SRA Indemnity Insurance Rules. The policy is arranged through Six Clerks Insurance Services Limited. Our lead insurer is AXIS Managing Agency Ltd (Lloyd’s Syndicate 1686), 52 Lime Street, London EC3M 7AF, together with AmTrust Specialty Limited, Exchequer Court, 33 St Mary Axe, London EC3A 8AA, and Chubb Global Markets, 100 Leadenhall Street, London EC3A 3BP. The policy covers work carried out from our offices in England and Wales, in line with the SRA Minimum Terms and Conditions.

The SRA Compensation Fund

If you suffer financial loss because of a dishonest act by a solicitor, or because a firm fails to account for money it holds for you, you may be able to apply to the SRA Compensation Fund.

Client money

We hold client money in a client account at NatWest. Under the Financial Services Compensation Scheme you may be protected up to the current limit if the bank fails. We are not liable for any loss caused by the failure of a bank.
